Introduction

How to support ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
The first important thing in raising a child with ADHD is for parents to understand its characteristics.
The reason is that there are many parents who commit violence against children with ADHD.
If you don’t know anything, don’t listen to people and make the same mistake no matter how many times you say it. In addition, it quickly becomes a kid and attacks others.
It is a characteristic of ADHD children that they tend to be caught by such children.
By doing so, there are many people who think that if words are not good, they can be understood by pain.
Therefore, please see specific examples of support used at school sites.
Children with ADHD have inattention / time and object management, impulsivity, hyperactivity / verbosity, etc. It is also characterized by a learning style.
Based on these characteristics, the following guidance will be given.
・ Be confident without reprimanding superficial behavior.
・ Because working memory is weak, the instructions should be short and concise.
・ Use visual information such as flowcharts.
・ Develop self-monitoring ability to suppress impulsivity.
・ Present appropriate actions gently.
・ Reduce unnecessary notices as it tends to be distracting.
・ Use words that will increase your motivation.
・ Repeat specific instructions on how to manage homework, textbooks, teaching materials, and prints.
・ Clarify the rules for speaking and moving in advance, and support them so that they can speak and act appropriately.
・ We will promote close cooperation with regular classes in dealing with students enrolled in special needs classes and receiving guidance through regular classes.
・ Provide guidance that takes into consideration the self-esteem of the person.
・ Eliminate bullying of classmates in regular classes and secure a place to stay.
・ Enhance the content of instruction that emphasizes actual experience.
・ Select a teaching method that suits secondary disabilities and abuse.

It’s hard to learn for children with ADHD, but it’s important to teach them repeatedly.
It is also important to teach how to move, such as deciding the rules in advance.
Other than that, children with ADHD will be fidgety when there is a lot of information, so it is necessary to create an environment that is as simple and clean as possible.
As with the environment such as rooms, the instructions are short and easy to understand, one by one.
Instead of “Take the dishes to the sink and wipe the table with your teeth, brush your teeth”, “Take the dishes to the sink”, “Wipe the table with your teeth” and “Brush your teeth”. It is better to divide each action into one and convey it.
And by repeating it as a matter of course, children will be able to do it themselves.
Cooperation with outside the school
It is conceivable to utilize various institutions for support outside the school.
In particular, the hospital is the most conceivable.
However, there are some parents who are denied to go to the hospital because “my child has nothing wrong with it”.
I understand your feelings.
I don’t want to believe that my child has a disability.
However, please remember that it is your child who suffers from the denial of disability by parents.
Because of the pride of parents, children may not be able to receive support at school and may be treated as problematic children in the class and disliked.

If you are worried, please consult us first!
・ Promote cooperation between medical institutions / health centers, school nurses / coordinators, and parents (especially providing accurate information on drug therapy and measuring drug effects) in order to effectively utilize medical support.
・ Many parents are reluctant to consult with related organizations. While sharing information with related organizations, we will establish a consultation support system where outside experts can receive consultations from parents during the patrol.
・ Supporters involved in parent-child support, such as school children, local welfare officers, family counselors, and child guidance center staff, will conduct training and promote understanding and cooperation in the community to prevent abuse.
